Amazing girls football team at La Alianza

The girls football team  is doing incredibly well having only started this year – sponsored in part by an amazing UK football sponsor to whom we are all really grateful – without them the project would never have been able to get off the ground or develop.

All of the girls have come from extremely challenging backgrounds and Football has had a unifying effect, teaching them teamwork and to rely on others and to be relied on – building self esteem and making them healthy in mind and body.

This month a match was held with a team of girls from San Jeronimo Baja Verapaz. It was a very rewarding experience for the team, because despite the fact that the opposing team had very good ball control, our girls managed to score several times to win the game , which represented a huge victory and made the girls very happy and proud.

The final score was 10-1.
