Advocacy
- A first approach with the Observatory of Sexual and Reproductive Health (OSAR by its acronym in Spanish) for addressing teen pregnancy and sexual violence in children and adolescents to build a joint strategy for its eradication.
- On May 18, the National Director of ALA was invited to the “Meeting of Women Leaders on a 50/50 Planet in 2030” with the support of UN Women and the Embassy of Mexico; as one of the 100 women leaders of our country, where she proposed to hold a meeting of teenagers and young women who participate in this processes from the new generations.
- On May 27 was held the first Forum on Sexual Violence at the Congress, where the Director of ALA participated as a speaker and moderator. As an outcome of the forum, a Letter of Commitment was signed between several state and civil society representatives, with the objective to address the problem, in order to propose: to incorporate on the educational curriculum, secular sexual and reproductive health education with a scientific approach, to integrate a working space for assessing criminal reforms that allows the classification of forced pregnancy and maternity through rape, and to drive a comprehensive policy compensation due to rape.
- On May 26th ALA´s National Director and representatives from the Departments of Social Work and Psychology, attended to a meeting at the Royal Palace Hotel with the aim to socialise – with 11 people representing different organisations supported by Kind, that work with children, and adolescent victims of different types of violence (physical, sexual, immigration)- the model of comprehensive care under which ALA serves the residents from their time of their admission and through their stay.
